“She wore red. You owe me ten galleons, Slytherin.”
“I have some very grave news for you. You only have six months to live.”
“Oh no, what should I do?”
“Marry a Ravenclaw.”
“Will that make me live longer?”
“No, but it will SEEM longer.”
“One of these days, he’s going to get himself killed…”
“Yes! Godric, I’m here.”
“…Come back when you’re not wearing green…”
..Rowena? What’s wrong, it’s not yet dawn.
I-I shouldn’t be here, I’m sorry.
No, Ro, come here. Tell me what’s wrong.
I didn’t mean to wake you, it’s so childish.
Did you have a nightmare?
Would you like to stay here?
No, I don’t want to impose-
Ro, if you don’t stay with me I am required as a gentleman to make sure you go to sleep and I am too tired to move, so please come here.
LMFAO. THE FICTIONAL!GODRIC WE ARE ALL COLLECTIVELY CREATING IS AMAZING AND I WANT TO MARRY HIM. I am LOLing so hard right now, it is unbelievable. THIS IS PERFECT. Adorable. Ahhhhh I hope you secretly had more Gryffinclaw children outside of Helena. Please and thank you.
“I told them. I told them all along that you would ruin everything we worked for.”
“Oh, please, Rowena. You never had any higher instinct about who I was—the reason you never trusted me is because you’re so much like me. It was never your treasured intellect, it was your fear that made you hate me. Your fear and the knowledge that you are just one step away from where I am.”
“I am nothing like you.”
“Why do you think Godric and I made such good friends? It’s the same reason he fell in love with you. He’s drawn to what he isn’t. And we, whether you like it or not, are what he is not.”
“I won’t listen to this nonsense. You know, for a moment, Helga’s blind enthusiasm almost had me convinced. I thought you cared, if not for anyone then at the very least for her.”
“I never said I didn’t.”
Rowena looked down at him, awaiting his response. She knew he had heard her, but he said nothing, his eyes remaining closed, and the look on his face was one of smug satisfaction.
Her tone was more pressing the second time around, and he stirred ever so slightly; the grin on his face grew wider. And that was when she smacked his arm.
He smiled then, rubbing his arm slightly. “Yes, my love?”
Biting her lip, Rowena paused for a moment, second guessing her inquiry, but her curiosity - as always - got the best of her. “I need to know, Godric. I need to know how you did it,” she whispered.
“How I did what, Ro?”
“Ugh, you know what I speak of, Godric!” Rowena replied. He was embarrassing her on purpose and she knew it, but her impatience gave in, letting him win. “I want to know how you made me feel that good. You used magic, didn’t you?!”
They had just spent the evening together, and while Godric never failed to make her feel like a goddess he was worshiping, tonight was different. Everything was heightened. Prolonged. Even more amazing than usual. And Rowena needed to learn how it was possible. Godric’s whole chest rumbled with his laughter then, and Rowena sighed in frustration, dropping her head to rest on his chest. She gave up, wondering why she even attempted to bother; she should have expected as much from him.
Godric’s laughter finally subsided after a few more moments, and he nudged her gently, making her raise her head to look at him and allowing him to kiss her gently. She made a face at him when they parted to breathe, and when she opened her mouth to speak again, he pressed a finger to her lips, stopping her before she’d even begun.
“Rowena, you are without a doubt the smartest, wisest, most knowledgeable witch… most knowledgeable person I know. And if I had a question about anything, you are the first person I would approach to ask,” he murmured softly, a smug grin forming on his lips as he spoke. “But this is the lone area of… expertise… where I’ve seemed to surpass your talents with my own.”
“But I just wan—-“
“Just let this wizard keep his secrets, love,” Godric murmured, his eyes falling shut once again, the smile still on his face. “You’re the one that’s benefiting from it, anyway.”

“expecto patronum” the dark roomlight up lightly as they both practiced the spell, bringing the happiest memory to the foremost of their mind, allowing it to consume them. the practice had been at the request of helga. rowena had mentioned dementors one night at dinner, and helga had been scared so badly they agreed to all learn the spell to keep them at bay if need be. though, salazar had then noted they hadn’t been seen in centuries, that simply did not quench helga’s want. it had been almost six months since they had practiced the charm. rowena’s memory slipped from memory, causing her patronus to appear a few seconds after godric’s had flown out of his wand. the air around her wand twitched as if it sensed a change before the wizard did.
godric’s patronus had been a lion respectfully, as salazar’s had been a lion. rowena’s had been a eagle while helga’s had been a small mammal that she insisted was a badger. the dark air surrounding the two of them was suddenly light up by two powerful creatures. “rowena.” godric spoke first, looking up in a state of almost disbelief. his hand steadied, his lion flickering in and out of existence as he was distracted. his shocked face was mimicked upon rowena’s. “is that a griffin?” and rowena could almost hear the smile starting to form on his face.
“what… no. it’s an eagle.” rowena spoke after a beat, still in a bit of shock over what was happening. the patronus had flown out of her wand in a white heap, the head and winds of the eagle, her eagle, first. she concentrated on her memory for a moment longer then let the patronus disappear. “no, it’s a griffin.” she spoke, not able nor willing to lie to him. the face and wings were of an, her eagle and the body were of the, his lion.
“how did that happen?” he asked, knowing she would have an answer. there were many things that godric knew about her and the look on her face told him many words.
“well, as i understand it, the patronus is subject to change if it’s caster goes through a change.” she said, her eyes flickering to the ground before back up at godric. “feelings like love, they are told to reflect those of a loved one.” her eyes returning to the ground, feeling slightly embarrassed by the facts she was now reciting.
godric took a moment to think about what she had just said, before a soft smile took place on his face. “so because my patronus is a lion…” he let the sentence drift, seeing a swift nod in understand and agreement from rowena. the smile stayed on his face for the remaining quiet moments, knowing he had just gained a stronger memory to bring forth his patronus. godric knew that her subconscious had just given him the gift of knowing she loved him, and rowena knew that he would now stop at nothing to make her his wife.
…… ok enough!!!
“She is quite beautiful.”
“Yes, and good in bed, as well.”
“That is not helpful.”
“It was not meant to be, Rowena. He only dances with her because you continue to refuse him. Don’t act like it is by any fault other than your own.”
“Rowena, are you coming to bed?”
“What are you thinking about?”
“I love you. You do know that, don’t you?”
“Yeah, I know. Now come to bed, darling.”
“You don’t trust me, do you Rowena?”
“No. Helga and Godric may trust you but I stopped trusting you long ago, Salazar.”
“Despite the fact that you’re obviously attracted to me.”
“I’d rethink your decision to touch me.”
“Rowena when will you understand—you and I are one in the same.”
“Godric is good, but he’s all instinct. You and I…we’re intellectuals at our core. Logic is what drives us.”
“Was it worth it, Salazar? Was it FUCKING worth it?”
“If you’re asking how she was—”
“Don’t. Don’t you dare. You’ve done everything you can to spite me, to spite Helga, all because you fucking can. It needs to stop. You need to—”
“Stop? She knows well enough I was using her. She was using me just as much to forget how she feels about you.”
“Tomorrow at noon we duel. I am going to make you regret ever thinking about touching her.”
“STOP IT. STOP THIS BOTH OF YOU! I knew what I was doing. And I am not some prize to be won and fought over. If you cannot realize that, Godric—then maybe I was right to want to forget the fact that I care about you.”
It’s time to choose

His hands are everywhere, rough and surprisingly cool against her heated skin. He moves behind her, above her, rocks into her forcefully. She cries out in pleasure and he shudders, grasps her hip with one hand, fists his other hand in her hair and jerks her head back painfully.
‘Tell me you like it,’ he rasps in her ear, his impassioned voice sending shivers dancing down her spine.
‘You-’ she gasps, bites down on her lip as he pushes deeper, harder; ‘you know I do.’
‘Say it!’ he yells, and as the fire explodes around them, she floats into oblivion, her heart still beating wildly in her chest-
Rowena woke with a gasp, staring at the wall opposite her bed unseeingly for a few moments. What had just happened?
Godric’s low, sleepy voice pulled her up into a sitting position and she looked over at him, still sitting up against his pillow in the candlelight, his book discarded on the bed next to him.
“It was just a dream, Godric,” she explained shakily. He turned towards her, staring up into her eyes unwaveringly. She flashed him a tremulous smile and knew it did nothing to reassure him - he could always see through her lies.
“Are you all right?” he asked, sounding more awake. “Do you want to tell me about it?”
The dream flashed through her mind, showing her only the highlights - his skin against hers, her lips moaning his name - and she tensed, biting her lip.
“No, Godric, I - I don’t want to talk about it.” She looked down at him again, then settled down next to him against the pillow. His hand came up to cup her cheek, warm and gentle.
“Let’s go back to sleep.”
ooooh Lord… give me strength
“Welcome home, Godric. This is some welcome back ball, is it not?”
“Quite. You—you look more beautiful than ever Rowena. And you’re—”
“Wearing red? Don’t go thinking that was for your benefit.”
“Was it not?”
“Be careful in what you assume, Gryffindor.”
“When am I ever careful, darling?”
